Please join the Tacoma Estate Planning Council for our March meeting!

The meeting will be located at C.I. Shenanigans from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

Our special guest speaker for this evening will be Dr. Kelsey Crowe (PhD) who will be helping us improve our soft skills by talking about empathy. Her empathy discussion will cover:

  • Empathy roadblocks making conversations over matters like loss and illness difficult;
  • The definition of empathy and compassion;
  • Listening skills and non-listening styles;
  • Ways to have a conversation about difficult topics without being overly intrusive;
  • Small gestures of kindness that make a big difference.

Dr. Crowe is the founder of Help Each Other Out, which makes human connection in times of suffering easier for patients, loved ones, and professionals via workshops, interactive games, and talks. She co-authored the book There is No Good Card for This: What to do and Say When Life is Scary, Awful, and Unfair to the People You Love. She also teaches social work at California State University. She is a renowned speaker and leads empathy workshops across the country and the world.

We're hoping to have a big turnout for Dr. Crowe, so feel free to invite any guests!

We will have appetizers and a cash bar open during the meeting . The cost per attendee, including taxes and fees will be $28.00; members can pay via Eventbrite or at the venue.

The meeting has also been qualified for MCLE credit for WA attorneys and we will be working on getting CPE credit for CPAs as well.

Please RSVP by March 4th, so we can provide an accurate head count to C.I. Shenanigans.

We hope you can make it!

Cheers,

The Tacoma Estate Planning Council
